Why is Jesus considered the rock upon which we build our lives?

The concept of Jesus as the rock is deeply entrenched in Scripture, with 1 Corinthians 3:11 stating that no other foundation can be laid than that which is Christ. This affirms that Jesus is the cornerstone of our faith. Just as a building requires a solid foundation to withstand pressures and storms, our spiritual lives rely on Christ as our foundational rock. Without Him, any efforts at spiritual growth or understanding are ultimately unstable and will fail under trial. Believers are called to firmly rest their lives upon His teachings, promises, and sacrificial love.
