Why is knowing Christ important for hope?

Answered in 1 source

Knowing Christ is crucial because He is the foundation of our hope and assurance of salvation.

In the Christian faith, knowing Christ is central to understanding the nature of our hope. As Paul expresses in Philippians 3, his desire was to know Christ above all else. This relationship serves as the bedrock of a believer's hope. The knowledge of Christ involves recognizing His love, His sacrifice, and the everlasting comfort that He provides. Furthermore, Romans 8 assures us that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, reinforcing that our hope is given security by being united with Him. Without this knowledge, hope becomes uncertain and groundless, much like building a house on sand.
