Why is knowing God essential for calling upon Him?

To call upon the name of the Lord authentically requires a personal knowledge of who He is. This includes acknowledging His sovereignty, righteousness, and the fullness of His attributes. As seen in the Old Testament, God reveals Himself to His people, and thus, understanding Him is foundational to calling upon His name sincerely.
