Why is knowing the Word of God important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Knowing the Word of God is vital for spiritual growth, understanding God's nature, and deepening our relationship with Him.

The importance of knowing the Word of God cannot be overstated for Christians. It is through Scripture that we understand the character of God and the work of Christ. Hebrews 4:12 tells us, 'For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.' This reveals that the Word has the power to penetrate our hearts, discern our thoughts, and transform us. Furthermore, as believers, we are called to see Christ in all Scriptures, as He is the fulfillment of God's promises. By studying the Word, we not only grow in knowledge but also in faith, being equipped to live out the gospel and engage with the world around us.
