Why is knowing we are God's people important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Being recognized as God's people provides deep comfort and assurance in the midst of life's challenges (Isaiah 43:1).

Understanding one's identity as one of God's people is foundational for assurance and comfort in the Christian life. Throughout Scripture, God emphasizes that His people are precious and loved. In Isaiah 43:1, the Lord declares, 'Fear not, for I have redeemed thee; I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.' This recognition brings security amidst trials as believers know that they are cherished by God. The knowledge of belonging to Him reinforces the truth that He fights for us, cares for us, and provides everything we need for our journey.
