Why is knowing your salvation important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Knowing your salvation is crucial as it brings assurance, joy, and enables effective service for Christ.

Understanding and knowing your salvation is paramount for every Christian. It fosters a sense of assurance that one's sins are forgiven and that one is a child of God, which in turn leads to fullness of joy (1 John 1:4). This joy is inherently connected to knowing that you have eternal life, as doubt can hinder spiritual fulfillment. Additionally, when a believer is secure in their salvation, they are empowered to serve Christ and share the hope of the gospel with others. A lack of assurance may prevent effective service, as one cannot effectively communicate the hope of salvation without first experiencing it themselves.
