Why is knowledge of Christ important for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Knowledge of Christ must be accompanied by faith; merely knowing facts about Him is not saving knowledge.

In Matthew 7:21, Jesus warns that not everyone who says to Him, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom, which underscores that mere awareness of Christ is insufficient for salvation. As discussed in the sermon, demons possess accurate knowledge of Christ, recognizing Him as the Holy One, yet they are still lost. True salvation involves a personal relationship with Christ that inspires faith, hope, and love, not just intellectual acknowledgment. This genuine knowledge leads believers to seek to honor God and obey His commands, demonstrating the fruit of true salvation (John 17:3).
