Why is light important in the context of salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Light symbolizes the revelation of God's glory and truth, essential for salvation and life.

In the spiritual context, light represents the clarity and truth of God's revelation in Jesus Christ. Just as God commanded light to shine in the physical creation, He must command spiritual light to shine into our hearts for us to perceive His glory and grace. This divine illumination allows us to understand the depth of our sin, recognize God’s holiness, and embrace His mercy. The light of Christ is necessary to bring us from darkness—symbolizing sin and separation from God—into His marvelous light, which leads to eternal life. Scripture, such as 2 Corinthians 4:6, emphasizes this transformative power of divine light in the believer's life.
