Why is living a holy life important for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Living a holy life is important as it is an expression of our faith and a response to the grace received from God.

While we are saved by grace through faith alone, the call to live a holy life is a natural response to that grace. In 1 Peter 1:9, it mentions that we are receiving the goal of our faith, the salvation of our souls, which entails not only initial salvation but also the ongoing process of sanctification. A holy life serves as evidence of the transformative work of Christ in our hearts and signifies that we are distinct from the world, setting our hope fully on the grace to be revealed in Christ. Thus, holy living aligns with our true identity as redeemed children of God.
