Why is living a life of good works important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Good works are essential as they reflect the genuine faith that justifies believers, demonstrating our transformation in Christ.

Good works hold a vital place in the life of a believer, not as a means to obtain justification, but as a necessary outcome of true faith. In James 2:21-24, we find that the Apostle James argues that Abraham was justified by works when he offered his son Isaac, which meant that his faith was made perfect through his actions. This reflects a profound truth in the Christian walk: while works do not save us, they are evidence of our faith and ongoing transformation. Our good works are a response to God’s grace in our lives, showing our desire to obey and glorify Him. Ephesians 2:10 further reinforces this, stating we are God’s workmanship created for good works, which He prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Thus, a believer’s life will naturally produce good works as a manifestation of the faith imparted by God.
