Why is looking unto Jesus vital for believers?

Answered in 1 source

Looking unto Jesus is crucial for believers as He is our ultimate goal and source of strength in the race of faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Hebrews 12:2 instructs believers to 'fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.' This focus is vital as it helps us remain steadfast in our spiritual journey, particularly in times of difficulty. Jesus not only serves as our example but also provides the necessary strength to endure disciplines and trials. Moreover, maintaining our gaze upon Christ keeps us anchored in faith so that we are less likely to become weary or discouraged in our race. As we look unto Him, we draw from His grace, enabling us to faithfully pursue holiness and peace with others.
