Why is love with faith important for Christians?

In Ephesians 6:23, Paul emphasizes the inseparable connection between love and faith when he says, 'Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith.' This relationship highlights that genuine Christian faith naturally produces love towards God and one's fellow believers. When faith is active, it manifests as love, signifying that true faith is not merely intellectual agreement but heartfelt devotion that compels believers to act in love towards one another. 1 John 4:20 states, 'If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?' This underscores that love is a fruit of faith, and without it, faith becomes stagnant and unproductive. Hence, growing in faith and love is crucial for spiritual maturity and fostering unity within the body of Christ.
