Why is loving God crucial for experiencing His promises?

Answered in 1 source

Loving God is essential because His promises, like working all things for good, are specifically for those who love Him.

Loving God is the condition attached to the promise of Romans 8:28, which states that all things work together for good only for those who love Him. It is a mark of true sonship to love God, a love that is evidenced in our pursuit of Him and His will (1 John 4:7). If we do not love God, the assurance of His promises does not apply to us. Therefore, understanding and cultivating our love for God is vital; it opens the door to the richness of His grace and purpose in our lives, allowing us to rest in the certainty that He is in control and is working for our ultimate good.
