Why is partaking of Christ essential for salvation?

The necessity of partaking of Christ for salvation is established in John 6:53, where Jesus states that unless one eats His flesh and drinks His blood, they have no life in them. This metaphorically underscores the importance of faith and reliance on Christ's sacrificial work. To partake of Christ means to accept Him as the bread of life, nourishing our souls through faith. It is through this union with Him that believers receive the perfect righteousness needed to stand before God, as highlighted in Philippians 3:9. Without believing in and partaking of Christ, one remains spiritually dead and separated from God. Thus, believing in His atoning sacrifice is the only means by which one can attain eternal life.
