Why is passive submission important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Passive submission allows Christians to trust in God's providence during trials and to reflect His grace in suffering.

Passive submission is vital for Christians as it embodies a trust in God's providence amid life's challenges. It acknowledges that God is in control and that He uses trials to shape and refine our character. This type of submission does not imply a lack of feelings or complaints; rather, it encourages believers to bring their burdens to God in prayer, just as David did in Psalm 142, where he poured out his complaints before the Lord. By accepting God's will patiently, Christians can glorify Him even in suffering, recognizing that He uses these experiences to teach us and to draw us closer to Him. As we submit, we reflect Christ, who submitted to the Father even in the depths of His affliction (Matthew 26:39).
