Why is perfection important for Christians?

For Christians, understanding perfection is essential to grasping the holiness of God. Matthew 5:48 commands us to 'be perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.' This perfection is not achievable through our own efforts but is attainable only through our union with Christ, who perfects us. The demand for perfection highlights our need for a Savior, as we all fall short of God's glorious standard (Romans 3:23).
