Why is perfection important for Christians in worship and service?

Answered in 1 source

Perfection is critical in Christian worship because God will accept only what is perfect in accordance with His nature and holiness.

The demand for perfection in worship and service reflects God's nature as holy and just. As believers, we are called to bring forth our best offerings in reverence and sincerity (Leviticus 22:21). However, due to our sinful nature, true perfection is unattainable without Christ. Despite our best efforts, even the most commendable acts performed with the right intentions are still tainted by sin. This reality emphasizes the necessity of trusting in Christ’s perfection, yielding us strength to seek holiness in our lives while recognizing our flawed condition before a righteous God. Therefore, every aspect of our worship should be approached with a heartfelt recognition of God’s holiness and our reliance on Christ's perfect sacrifice.
