Why is prayer a gift from God?

Answered in 1 source

Prayer is a gift from God that allows believers to communicate with Him, seek His guidance, and experience His comfort and presence.

Prayer is fundamentally a divine gift that facilitates a personal relationship between God and His followers. It is through prayer that believers express their dependence on God, seek His wisdom, and lay bare their hearts before Him. This intimate communication is nurtured by the Holy Spirit, who helps believers articulate their needs and desires in accordance with God’s will (Romans 8:26-27). Additionally, prayer serves as a means of being reminded of God's promises and His faithfulness, offering comfort during trials and leading to spiritual growth and assurance of being heard by a loving, sovereign Creator.
