Why is prayer essential in times of trouble?

Answered in 1 source

Prayer is essential during troubles as it draws us closer to God, enabling us to seek His guidance and strength.

In moments of hardship, as illustrated by King Hezekiah’s actions in Isaiah 37, prayer serves both as a source of comfort and an avenue for divine intervention. Hezekiah took his troubles to the house of God, humbly laying his needs before the Lord. This act signifies a believer's recognition of their dependence on God. Prayer invites God's presence into our turmoil, cultivating a spirit of reliance on Him. In Isaiah 37:4, the king sought the prayer of Isaiah, understanding that divine assistance was crucial for overcoming his adversaries. When faced with difficulties, leaning on prayer not only bolsters our faith but also aligns our will with God’s, assuring us of His support.
