Why is prayer important for Christians in the process of evangelism?

Answered in 1 source

Prayer is vital as it aligns believers with God's will, empowers their testimony, and seeks divine intervention for those in need.

Prayer is an essential practice for Christians, particularly in the context of evangelism, as it recognizes our dependence on God's power and guidance. When Peter and John encountered the lame man, they were prepared to respond to a need that was evident, having likely been in prayer. As we engage in evangelism, prayer serves multiple purposes: it empowers our witness, connects us to God's heart for the lost, and invites divine involvement in our efforts. Moreover, effective prayer often reflects a heart willing to intercede for those who are spiritually lame, just as friends carried the physical burden of the disabled man in Acts 3. Thus, through prayer, believers can bring others before the throne of grace, ultimately seeking healing and salvation for those who cannot come to Christ unassisted.
