Why is prayer important in the salvation process?

Answered in 1 source

Prayer for the lost acknowledges God's sovereign power to save and is a means through which He works.

Prayer plays a crucial role in the salvation process as it recognizes that only God has the power to save sinners. As seen in John 11, Mary and Martha sent for Jesus when they recognized their helplessness regarding Lazarus’ condition. Similarly, believers are encouraged to pray earnestly for their unsaved loved ones, appealing to the One who can intervene and breathe spiritual life into them. This act of calling upon Jesus demonstrates our dependence on His grace and affirms that He alone possesses the power to save.
