Why is preaching Christ essential for the church?

Answered in 2 sources

Preaching Christ is essential because it is through Him that the church finds its purpose and power (1 Corinthians 2:2).

The church's mission is rooted in the proclamation of Christ. As stated in 1 Corinthians 2:2, 'For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.' This encapsulates the heart of the gospel message, which focuses on Christ’s person and work. Preaching Christ glorifies Him, equips believers, and serves as the means through which the Holy Spirit draws people to faith. In doing so, the church fulfills its calling to be the body of Christ in a world that desperately needs to hear the truth of the gospel.
