Why is preaching the gospel important in sovereign grace theology?

Answered in 1 source

Preaching the gospel is essential because it is God's ordained means of calling His elect to salvation.

While sovereign grace theology teaches that God has chosen His elect, it does not negate the necessity of preaching the gospel. In fact, it reinforces the call to evangelism. The Apostle Paul, despite believing in God's sovereign election, passionately preached the gospel and prayed for sinners with a heart full of love and compassion. Romans 10:14 highlights the importance of preaching: 'How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed?' This illustrates that God has ordained the means of preaching as the vehicle through which He saves His people, demonstrating His mercy and grace.
