Why is pride a danger for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Pride leads to spiritual destruction and a false sense of security in one's own righteousness (Proverbs 16:18).

Pride is often the root of many spiritual downfalls, as illustrated in the life of King Uzziah, whose pride ultimately led to his destruction. Proverbs 16:18 warns, 'Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.' It is crucial for Christians to remain humble, recognizing that our righteousness is not derived from ourselves but solely from Christ. When believers trust in their own strength or merits, they risk walking away from God's grace, which is extended to the humble and lowly in spirit.
