Why is pure heart important for Christians?

A pure heart is vital for Christians as it reflects the transformative work of the Holy Spirit in the new birth. According to 1 Timothy 1:5, love comes out of a pure heart, meaning that genuine affection towards God and others stems from a heart cleansed by Christ. Furthermore, 1 Peter 1:22 underscores that being born again through the Word produces a love for the brethren out of a fervent and pure heart.
