Why is recognizing Jesus as the Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Recognizing Jesus as the Christ is essential for salvation and understanding His role as our mediator.

For Christians, acknowledging Jesus as the Christ is integral because it speaks to His roles as prophet, priest, and king. In 1 Timothy 6:15, He is referred to as the King of Kings, emphasizing His sovereign authority. Additionally, as the great high priest, He mediates between God and humanity (Hebrews 4:14-16) and is the only sacrifice sufficient to atone for sin. Without recognizing Jesus in these roles, one cannot fully grasp the gospel or the means of salvation, as only God can save, which is the core message of the Christian faith.
