When our eyes are opened, we see our frailty and the insufficiency of human efforts to save us. Scripture affirms this spiritual blindness; Jesus spoke of those who are blind but claim to see (John 9:41). True understanding leads to dependence on Christ alone for redemption. This realization fosters humility and gratitude as we acknowledge that our salvation is not through our merit but through the grace given in Christ.
