Why is recognizing spiritual blindness important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Acknowledging spiritual blindness helps Christians understand their need for Christ’s grace and the necessity of His transformative work.

Recognizing spiritual blindness is vital for Christians as it serves to remind them of their complete dependence on God's grace for true insight and understanding. Just as the blind man in Mark 8 required Jesus' intervention to gain his sight, so too do believers need the illuminating power of the Holy Spirit to comprehend spiritual truths. In our natural state, we are unable to see or appreciate the things of God (1 Corinthians 2:14). By admitting their spiritual blindness, Christians cultivate humility and a desire for the transformative touch of Christ, acknowledging that only He can give sight to the blind and lead them into all truth.
