Why is reliance on God's power important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Reliance on God's power is crucial for Christians because it enables us to endure trials and live a life that glorifies Him, while acknowledging our inherent weakness.

Reliance on God's power enables believers to navigate the complexities and challenges of life with faith and perseverance. As noted in Colossians 1:11, we are 'strengthened with all might according to His glorious power.' This shows that it is through God's strength that we can endure hardships and exhibit qualities such as patience and long-suffering. Additionally, depending on God's power allows us to reject the notion that we can achieve spiritual success through our own works, instead leading us to glorify Him for all achievements and growth in grace. In acknowledging our weakness, we find delight in God's sustaining grace, allowing us to rejoice even amid trials.
