Why is relying on Jesus' name important for salvation?

The name of Jesus reflects His character and His completed work on behalf of His people. When David implored God to save him by His name, he was acknowledging that salvation rests in the integrity and power of Christ alone. This reliance is fundamental to the Reformed faith, emphasizing that our own deeds, feelings, and decisions cannot secure salvation; only the finished work of Christ can do that.
