Why is remembering sacrifices important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Christians remember sacrifices to honor God's covenant and the grace provided through Jesus Christ.

Remembrance of sacrifices is vital for Christians because it reinforces our connection to the covenant God made with His people and the grace that flows from it. As seen in Judges 11, the daughters of Israel remembered Jephthah’s daughter four days a year to honor the commitment made to the Lord. This act of remembrance serves to keep the faithfulness of God and His redemptive purposes alive in the hearts of His people. Similarly, believers partake in the Lord's Supper as a means of remembrance, celebrating Christ's sacrifice which fulfilled all Old Testament requirements. Thus, remembering these acts of sacrifice nourishes our faith and keeps us anchored in God's promises.
