Why is repentance important for churches?

Answered in 1 source

Repentance is crucial for churches to regain God’s favor and restore true worship.

Repentance is not merely feeling sorry for sin; it is a profound response to God's holiness and a turning from rebellion to obedience. For churches, embracing a culture of repentance allows for correction, healing, and the restoration of the church’s mission. Instead of manipulating the gospel to fit cultural trends, churches must reclaim their calling to preach the truth boldly, disciple believers faithfully, and maintain pure worship. Without repentance, churches risk falling into the same judgment that befell Israel, where outward form cannot replace the void left by the departed glory of God.
