Why is resting in Christ essential for service?

Answered in 1 source

Resting in Christ is essential because true service for God starts from a position of faith and reliance upon Him (Matthew 11:28-30).

In the sermon, it's emphasized that one cannot serve God genuinely until they have ceased from their own works and rested in Christ. Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28-30, saying, 'Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' This rest signifies a spiritual state in which we let go of our attempts to earn God's favor through our actions and instead rely solely on His work for our salvation. When we rest in Christ, we are equipped and empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve Him wholeheartedly and joyfully.
