Why is restraining grace important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Restraining grace prevents believers from committing sinful acts they would otherwise pursue.

Restraining grace is vital in the life of a believer as it reflects God's mercy and sovereignty. It is through this grace that God holds back His children from fully succumbing to temptation and sin. The story of David illustrates this well; God restrained him from joining the Philistines in fighting against Israel, which could have led to disastrous spiritual consequences. This grace enables us to recognize our weakness and the constant need for God’s intervention, drawing us closer to Him and enhancing our faith as we rely on His strength.
