Why is reverence for God important in our journey of faith?

Answered in 1 source

Reverence for God is foundational because it reflects our understanding of His holiness and our dependence on Him.

In Joshua 3:4, the Israelites were instructed to maintain a distance from the Ark to recognize its holiness. This reverence was vital for their relationship with God and revealed their recognition of His transcendent nature. Similarly, in our faith journey, acknowledging God’s holiness helps us understand our own sinfulness and our need for His grace. It cultivates humility, gratitude, and obedience, leading us to a deeper relationship with Him. Reverence fuels our worship and ensures we do not take His presence for granted, enabling us to follow Him more faithfully and effectively.
