Why is reverencing God's holy name important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Reverencing God's holy name is crucial because it reflects our understanding of His holiness and our relationship with Him.

The reverence of God's holy name is essential for all who approach Him in worship and prayer. In Leviticus 22, God commands His people to treat His name with utmost reverence, as it represents His character and authority. When believers approach God casually or irreverently, they not only dishonor Him but also fail to recognize the gravity of their sin and the grace that has saved them. Esteeming God’s name is an expression of our respect for His holiness and the sacrifice of Christ, who has made us priests unto Him. Every act of worship should stem from a desire to honor God above all else, reminding us that we serve a holy and just God.
