Why is salvation a difficult concept?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation is difficult because it requires God's intervention to bring dead sinners to life, as it is not achievable by human effort.

Salvation is often regarded as difficult because it involves overcoming significant obstacles, primarily humanity's inherent sinfulness and total inability. 1 Peter 4:17 states, 'For the time has come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall be the end of them that obey not the gospel of God?' This indicates the severity of the situation facing all mankind. Additionally, Romans 8:7 explains that 'the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.' Thus, salvation requires divine action, where God must grant life to the spiritually dead, making salvation an act of His sovereign grace rather than a simple choice made by humans.
