Why is seeking God's will important in prayer?

Answered in 2 sources

Seeking God's will ensures that our prayers align with His sovereign plan, leading to true communion and understanding.

Prayer according to God's will is critical, as it demonstrates our submission to His authority and purpose. As noted in John’s teachings, praying in this manner not only honors God but also aligns our desires with His. We must strive to pray led by the Holy Spirit and in agreement with His revealed will, as praying contrary to God's will can lead to disillusionment. Thus, true prayer involves not just asking for what we want, but seeking what pleases and glorifies God above all.
