Why is seeking God's will in prayer important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Seeking God's will in prayer is vital because it aligns our desires with His eternal plan and purpose.

In prayer, we are taught to sincerely desire that God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). This is essential for Christians because it acknowledges our limited understanding of what is best for our lives and surrenders our desires to God's sovereign wisdom. By submitting to God's will, we recognize His ultimate authority and power, and we express our trust in His perfect plan for our lives. Furthermore, when we align our prayers with God's will, we find true fulfillment and peace, as we are engaging in a relationship that prioritizes His glory above our own needs and wants.
