Why is self-conceit harmful for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Self-conceit obscures the true light of Christ and hinders Christian unity and influence.

Self-conceit can severely undermine a Christian’s ability to reflect Christ's light. When a believer is consumed by vanity and holds a dismissive attitude toward others, they not only obscure their own light but also negate the call for humility in the Christian life (Philippians 2:3-4). True humility allows for cooperation and unity among believers, which enhances the church's collective witness in the world.
