Why is serving Christ considered valuable?

Answered in 1 source

Serving Christ is highly esteemed, as true service comes from love and devotion, earning commendation from Him.

In Mark 14, the act of the woman anointing Jesus is highlighted as a beautiful service that reflects genuine love and devotion. Jesus Himself commends her, saying that she has done a beautiful thing, which illustrates that acts of service done out of love for Christ are of immense value. This is especially poignant in a world that often misjudges and undervalues devotion to God, viewing it as wasteful or extreme. The scripture challenges believers to invest their lives, resources, and time wholly in service to Christ, as they acknowledge His sacrifice and love for them. Ultimately, what matters is not public opinion but the recognition of Christ, who sees all acts of service done in sincerity (Matthew 6:4).
