Why is serving God important?

Answered in 1 source

Serving God is a privilege that stems from our identity as His children, not a means to earn rewards.

Serving God is fundamentally important because it flows from our identity as His redeemed children. Once a sinner is brought from darkness into light, the response is a deep, inherent desire to serve, not out of obligation or for rewards, but out of gratitude. This perspective shifts our understanding of service from a transactional relationship to a familial one, understanding that our service is an expression of love and thankfulness for the grace bestowed upon us. It is this love that empowers us to serve wholeheartedly and joyfully, reflecting the character of Christ, who served as a model of humility and sacrifice.
