Why is setting our spiritual house in order important?

Answered in 1 source

Setting our spiritual house in order is vital for ensuring we are right with God and prepared for eternity.

The urgency of setting our spiritual house in order arises from the biblical teaching that life is brief and death is certain, as noted in Hebrews 9:27, 'It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.' Hezekiah's example illustrates this point; facing death, he earnestly sought to align his life with God's will. By addressing one’s spiritual condition, believers acknowledge their need for God's grace and mercy, which are only found through Christ. The importance is also emphasized in the call to 'examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith' (2 Corinthians 13:5), urging everyone to confidently face the reality of eternal life that comes through a relationship with Jesus.
