Why is solemnity about death important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Being solemn about death leads to a deeper appreciation of life and our eternal hope in Christ.

A sober understanding of death compels Christians to live intentionally and prioritize their spiritual lives. The preacher calls upon the congregation to 'number your days' as a means of applying wisdom to how we live. Recognizing that death could come at any moment instills a sense of urgency to share the gospel and deepen our relationship with Christ. It further prepares us for the inevitable, allowing us to trust God's sovereign plan and find peace in the promise of eternal life through Christ (John 3:16).
