Why is submission to Christ important?

Answered in 1 source

Submission to Christ is essential as it acknowledges His sovereignty and authority over our lives.

Submission to Christ signifies a recognition of His authority and lordship in our lives. The leper came to Jesus in an act of submission, kneeling and recognizing that only Christ had the power to heal him. This act of coming to Christ in submission reveals an understanding that ultimate control rests not with ourselves, but with God, who has the sovereign authority to grant mercy and healing. The significance of this submission is underscored by the personal relationship that develops when we accept Christ as Lord; He becomes our Savior, and this relationship is distinct from the multitude that followed Him for mere temporal blessings without true understanding. Those who genuinely seek Him will find Him as Lord and Savior when they come to Him with a contrite heart.
