Why is submitting to God's will crucial for holiness?

Answered in 1 source

Submitting to God's will is crucial for holiness because true holiness is measured by how much of our own will we lay down in favor of His will.

The essence of holiness lies in selflessness and submission to God. Jesus exemplified perfect holiness by coming to do the Father's will rather than His own (John 6:38). In our lives, true holiness is achieved when we surrender our desires and ambitions, choosing to seek God's purpose for us instead. This surrender is an act of faith, trusting that God's plan is ultimately for our good and His glory. When we relinquish control, we become vessels through which God can work His will, allowing His power to manifest in our actions and decisions. The more we abandon self, the more we reflect the holiness of Christ in our lives.
