Why is supporting pastors important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Supporting pastors is vital as it allows them to focus fully on preaching the gospel and serving the church.

Pastors need adequate support not only for their physical needs but to ensure they can dedicate themselves fully to the ministry of the Word. In 1 Corinthians 9, Paul explains how, like soldiers and farmers, pastors should not be expected to work and provide for themselves while also leading the congregation spiritually. If they are burdened with outside jobs, their ability to study, prepare, and minister effectively suffers. Therefore, supporting pastors not only benefits them but ensures the spiritual health and growth of the church as a whole.
