Why is the character of Christ important for our salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's character as the Holy One ensures that He will keep His promises and provide perfect righteousness for His people.

The character of Christ as the Holy One of Israel is paramount for our salvation because it reveals His commitment to holiness and truth. This title assures believers that He cannot lie or fail in His promises; thus, those to whom He has pledged salvation can rest assured it will be accomplished. Furthermore, the Holy One imparts His righteousness to His people, ensuring their acceptance before God. The work of salvation, therefore, is perfect and complete, as Christ, being holy, cannot offer anything less than perfection for His people. His holiness guarantees that the work of redemption is fully sufficient to secure eternal life for all who believe.
