Why is the communion of the Holy Spirit important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The communion of the Holy Spirit is essential because it enables believers to have a new heart and live in fellowship with God.

The communion of the Holy Spirit is foundational for a believer's life as it represents the continuous relationship we have with God. Through the Holy Spirit, individuals are regenerated, which means they are given a new heart and a new nature that inclines them toward righteousness. This transformation is crucial because without the Spirit, we are spiritually dead and incapable of believing. Furthermore, the Holy Spirit provides unity among believers, as He works through the preaching of the Gospel to draw people together into one faith, maintaining the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3). Therefore, the communion of the Holy Spirit sustains our growth in grace and our corporate unity in Christ.
