Why is the concept of being 'peeled' significant for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

'Peeled' signifies the humbling process God uses to prepare His people for His grace and gathering.

The term 'peeled' represents the stripping away of sin and self-righteousness that believers experience as God works in their lives. This process, although often painful, is essential for realizing our complete dependence on God’s mercy. Just as an apple must be peeled, Christians must undergo a work of grace where God breaks our pride and reveals our true state before Him. This is a transformative phase where we are made to see our need for Christ. In the end, this peeling ultimately leads to our presentation as a glorified people, cleansed and sanctified by Christ. Thus, being 'peeled' aligns with God’s greater purpose of molding us into vessels of honor for His glory.
